INSPIRED BY SHERI CASTLE & YOU: ECW COOK BOOK
January 2024 Update!
Progress is being made! Drafts of submitted recipe pages are available now. Please reach out to Erin Becker ([email protected]) with any suggested changes. Along with the page(s) for review, chefs will also receive instructions for photographing their dish. These will also be due back to Erin by February 9th. Our hope is to have the cook books in hand and ready for purchase by Mother’s Day!

Ladies,
I want to share a sincere THANK YOU to all who came out on last Tuesday evening to share in ECW’s celebration reception for our speaker Sheri Castle. THANK YOU to all who brought your favorite appetizers, finger food, sweet treats, and a THANK YOU to all who made recipes from Sheri’s cookbooks. A special THANK YOU to those who helped in the kitchen, those who helped serve, clean -up and set-up—many thanks.
The evening was so much fun and Sheri shared such delightful stories that she kept us laughing ! What I can say is that Sheri was so impressed with the ECW turnout that she said would love to come back anytime. She said thank you for ECW giving her our St James cookbook -it has a special place on her bookshelf.
In speaking with some of the ladies, It was suggested that we try and work on an updated St. James’ cookbook. One of the threads of Sheri’s talk was how food and community are knit together in our stories. Why we love this particular recipe because it was Aunt Becky’s etc. As Sheri shared, whether it is something from our family, our location, our resources, or our culture, -that is what makes a favorite recipe. It is what makes it special because it knits food and our community together!
Let’s start creating a new St James Cookbook, let’s include our stories as to what makes this recipe special to our hearts, and then let’s have a cook off!!
