Vestry Corner ~ May 2024
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust. A feeling that is easily requested. Fortunately for us our Trust is not hinged on worldly requirements but lifted up to the Lord and His faithful plan. Trust is something we'll need during this time of transition. As we prepare for the departure of Rev. Cheryl Brainard, we understand that her move is part of God's larger tapestry. We trust in His guidance for our clergy, our vestry, our staff, and our parish family.
April was a bright month as we rejoiced in a beautiful month of Easter celebration. Our campus has been busy, and we are thankful and appreciative of everyone’s efforts to accomplish such worthy events and gatherings with the Foundations William Alexander dinner, Bonhoeffer in a time of Responsibility speaker series, kicking off our Bread Breakers season, serving at Glory Ridge, and many more. We give thanks.
Both of our houses of worship have received new technology enhancements this month. Our sanctuary has a new video streaming device, and we are thankful to continue our Live Stream offering with more clarity. Mt. Lebanon has received a new audio system that will boost the level of outside sound for our Parishioners. Just in time! Our services at Mt Lebanon will begin this month on May 26, we look forward to offering this service all summer long. Thank you to all those involved in the planning, cleaning, and enhancements.
We know May is a busy season as our High School Seniors prepare for graduation, and many others prepare for Summer. This month we will wrap up a successful season of Faith Formation classes, an offering that is available to all ages and stages in their Faith. On May 5th we will celebrate 23 individuals in confirmation/reception/reaffirmation with the Bishop. A blessing as we see our Parish flourish.
As we reflect on all the great things shape in at our Parish we also ask that you plan ahead. Save the date! You are invited to the Parish picnic on June 2nd at Mt. Lebanon Chapel. A lovely chance to spend time with one another and share the beautiful nature Mt Lebanon has to offer and connect over a meal. We will see you there!
