St. James Parish is deeply involved with the community. We believe we can only build a stronger community by working together. We put the motto of “Love your neighbor as yourself” at the forefront of our work! We want to take a moment to introduce you to our Outreach Commission Lay Leaders and some of our Outreach Partners. 2Share Furniture

2Share is a small group of local volunteers who started an ad hoc effort, in 2017, to take in furniture donations that we then delivered to those in need in our community. In 2018 in the aftermath of Florence, they significantly expanded their efforts. As a no-profit, all-volunteer, grassroots ministry, they work cooperatively with many local organizations.

A Safe Place has been working to help victims of human trafficking in this area since 2012. Help Hub

Hurricane Relief

St. James, along with the Lower Cape Fear Deanery, supports all efforts of Hurricane Relief. Especially efforts within our local community.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is an Outreach Ministry of St. James Parish. On the fifth Sunday in any given month, we are responsible for preparing, packaging, and delivering meals to approximately 180 grateful Meals on Wheels recipients, who are elderly or disabled shut-ins, many of whom have little to no social interaction or hot meals other than Meals on Wheels. The St. James Outreach Committee is partnering with One Love Tennis, the year-round tennis and academic program for at-risk youth, to provide students academic support. One Love serves elementary school students by providing tennis instruction and academic enrichment after school. To learn more about One Love, visit www.one-love-tennis.org.
