A Letter from Ms. Ansley Trask
I am incredibly grateful for the warm welcome I have received from the St. James Parish Staff and community!
It feels like coming home being back at SJDS. I was a teacher at the Day School for 5 years prior to my job as a kindergarten teacher at New Horizons Elementary School. My first day on the job was during the Christmas in July SJDS summer camp. I stood outside and watched the teachers open car doors while smiling children were greeted with love. I was particularly struck when a little one got out of the car with a few tears. The teacher next to me immediately scooped him up and talked to him about the fun they were going to have that day. It was just what I would have wanted someone to do for my own children. I thought about my own children and how they graced the halls of the Day School when they were little. I am grateful for the love their teachers poured into them and the foundation of learning that was instilled. Some of these teachers are still at SJDS. How blessed am I to work beside these wonderful educators! Every day since I started, I find myself eager to get in the car and make the drive downtown. I am busy getting ready for the Day School ready for the 2022-2023 school year. I can't wait to open
the car doors and greet all my new friends. If you have questions or you want to talk, my door is open. I look forward to our year together!
In God's Peace,
Ansley Trask
