Refurbishing the Great Hall Kitchen
There is truly something special about how fellowship centers around the breaking of bread. Our parish family has shared many wonderful meals together. We are blessed to have two kitchens on campus that enable us to feed our community! The Perry Hall Kitchen and the Great Hall Kitchen both see regular use. For those who partake in the Sunday Morning Family Breakfasts, the Great Hall Kitchen holds a special place in our hearts.
The St. James Buildings and Grounds Committee approved the restoration of the Great Hall Kitchen with Director of Facilities, Wes Clewis, leading the charge. Over the summer, the Great Hall Kitchen underwent a transformation. This transformation was not without its challenges. Interior and exterior walls were stripped and refinished, flooring was replaced, and cabinets were redone. All of the dishware was cleaned and organized with the help of Billie Holland. A rather substantial leak was found during the remodeling process. Thanks to his expertise, Wes was able to fix the leak and repair the walls that were damaged. With his timely response, work was able to continue with minimal delays.
When we gathered together once more for Welcome Sunday, the Great Hall Kitchen was beautifully refurbished and ready to serve our parish family once more. We are so thankful for the many hands and hearts that helped make this happen, we especially thank Wes for his dedicated ministry in preserving our historic campus and ensuring that it functions to meet our parish’s needs.
To help support the upkeep and preservation of our historic campus, we invite you to participate in our 2024 Stewardship Campaign.
